ETHIOPIA: President Calls On Public to Assist Dialysis Centre Construction

The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) yesterday donated 100,000 Birr for the construction of Kidney Dialysis Centre.

Speaking at the handing over the cheque at the National Palace, President Dr. Mulatu Teshome said: “Kidney dialysis is the most expensive for the society, the initiation to construct the Centre should be regarded as courageous act which seeks the support of everyone.”

Appreciating ECCSA’s readiness to support the Centre, the President affirmed government support for its realization.

ECCSA President Solomon Afework on his part said the Chamber made the donation to show its support and also motivate the public, the youth and the business community follow suit.

“We know the government is trying to meet the demand of the public in the health sector realizing its negative repercussions on national development.”

One of the architects towards establishing the Centre Yousuf Abdulhamid said: “We want to say thank you for the generous donation the Chamber made. The public should took part using 8085A SMS fundraiser..

Actor Girum Ermiyas also said that the contribution made by the Chamber proves public sense of belongingness which we all should emulate.

The Charity has planed to import 10 Dialysis machine from Germany to be placed at the Menilik II Hospital.
